A Couple of Fun Features - Cottages and Bungalows Magazine and My Photo in a Book!

Hi Friends! It seems like we are on the downside of the Covid-19 mountain (for now anyway) and I am very much looking forward to life beginning to feel a bit closer to normal again. Things have been slowly re-opening here in NJ with non-essential retail starting up next week along with outdoor dining. I think we might be the very last state to do so but there was certainly good reason for that. I don't really miss eating out, we much prefer to hang out here at home, but I do miss HomeGoods!! And thrift/antique stores - there's just no online substitute for those. I realized that I never shared a couple of fun things that happened just as the world was falling apart.
Our home was featured in the Spring 2020 issue of Cottages and Bungalows! It was an exciting day when this issue arrived! I was in great company - lots of great ideas in this issue.

Flea Market Decor Magazine and Christmas Planning

Hello friends! I've been fully immersed in decorating my home for Christmas for a couple of weeks now and I can't wait to begin sharing it! A highlight for me this past week was when Flea Market Decor magazine came out in print. It's available on newsstands and digitally now! Our Christmas home from last year is one of the homes featured inside.

Our Summer So Far

Hello! Oh my gosh, I have neglected this blog and I feel terrible about it. I don't even have a good excuse, other than, you know - LIFE. And Instagram, which I love, but will never completely replace blogging for me. This little blog is what started my home decor journey and I am not going to let it go. So, let's catch up a bit, shall we? Let's start where all things begin - in the home.

Winter Reads, A New Magazine Feature & An Update

Hello!  One of my favorite things about this time of year is how the pace of life slows down and leaves plenty of time for one of my favorite things to do- read.  Today I am sharing a couple of the standout books I have read in the last few months.

Make It Organized

An exciting part of January for us was seeing our master bathroom featured in the latest issue of Make It Organized magazine.  Yet, it felt somewhat ironic because our house has been feeling anything but organized these last few months.  I sat down with that magazine and read it until I was inspired to make some changes in our home.

So, I have been on a mission to organize everything the last few weeks.  There is no closet safe from me, armed with a garbage bag or two.  Living in a busy house, staying organized is a constant struggle.  I know things run so much more smoothly when I plan out how we can currently best use a space.  As kids grow, their needs change.  For us, with 2 teens and a 9 year old who thinks he is a teen, it isn't about organizing legos and trucks anymore.  Rather, we need to keep track of phone chargers.  And laptop chargers.  And earbuds.  I recently took the time to remove the rarely used coats from our front entryway closet.  Our most used jackets hang in our mudroom.  I learned long ago that kids (& husbands) are much better with hooks to hang jackets on rather than a hanger in a closet.  So I moved our extra coats to the basement.  And then I thought about ways to put our front closet to better use.  My main goal was to make room for our vacuum.  With 2 big hairy dogs, I need to keep a vacuum readily accessible on every floor of our house.
