Holiday Home Tour 2022

Happy Holidays, friends! I'm excited to share some of pictures of our home decorated for the holidays this year. I've been taking my time so I'm still not completely done but I thought I'd share some today.

Let's start in our Christmas kitchen. I decided to go with an ice skating theme in here after finding the ice skaters printable on Etsy. I love a good New England village with skating pond and still dream of living near one someday! Until then, I will continue enjoying art and puzzles that depict those scenes.

I decided to go with a garland over the kitchen windows this year. I started with a full garland from Hobby Lobby and then layered in some gingham ribbon and berries and cluster rice lights.

Over the island, the vintage sled has returned with packages wrapped in Jenny Steffen Hobick's beautiful wrapping paper.

I almost skipped it but then decided I couldn't go a year without our small kitchen tree. I've been collecting these kitchen themed ornaments for years and added a couple to my collection from Target this year.

We switched our dining room and living rooms last winter and we love this arrangement. This little sitting area just off our kitchen is a favorite spot to gather. As our kids have grown, so has our family with the addition of their girlfriends and I love having their energy surrounding me in the kitchen.

I added our big Balsam Hill European Fir between the kitchen and dining room. I love how this tree brings such a classic feel to our home. I added over 1k warm white faceted Philips lights to the already pre-lit tree and I just love the warm glow it adds.

We painted the fireplace and bookshelves in Calke green by Farrow and Ball last year and I love the richness the green adds to our home.

Our small entryway is always fun to decorate for Christmas. The pops of red against the Labrador Blue walls really add some cheer.

Our family room has a whimsical feel to it this year. This is where we have all of our nostalgic Christmas items and tree.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a peek at our holiday home this year. I am hoping to get another post up soon of our NJ home and I will definitely be sharing a tour of our family's Christmas cabin, Camp Lucky Dog. Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

Valentine's Day Decor & Gift Idea

Hello friends! I find that I always begin to crave more color at this time of year so it's fun to add some pops of red to our home the week or so leading up to Valentine's Day. I thought I'd share a few pictures of that with you today.

I added a sink skirt made from a tablecloth along with a banner from Target (last year). The little red house above the coffee mug rack is from Target this year. They always have such cute Valentine's Day decor! I have collected most of this stuff over the years and now I have quite a collection of red and white decor. I limit myself to just one bin for the smaller holidays like Valentine's Day.

When I walked into Whole Foods the other day, I was greeted with a display of spring flowers that made me smile. The temperature was in the teens that day so I had to add a small bouquet to my cart.

We switched our dining room and living rooms (again) for the colder months. I like having more room for our dining area in the colder months when we can't eat outside. Another winter project was painting the fireplace green (Calke green by Farrow and Ball). I'm loving it and I can feel my style evolving a little bit. I'll share about that soon.

I even added a few Valentine's Day touches in our bathroom this year. I found the heart hand towels at HomeGoods.

I worked with Walgreens on some Valentine's Day content this year and I love how it came out! This isn't sponsored for the blog at all, but I thought I'd share the idea here because I think personalized gifts are so much more meaningful and maybe you are looking for some ideas. I created a board print of a recent picture of Billy and me and a card with Dax on it. These items are available for same day pickup too and you can order them here.

We actually don't have any plans for Valentine's Day this year. We will most likely enjoy a nice dinner at home. We developed a tradition of having Rachael Ray's Venetian Shrimp and Scallops each year and we'll probably stick with that. It's so good! How about you? Happy Valentine's Day!
