Happy October! Today I am sharing the rest of the fall decor in our home. I already shared our kitchen and family room and now we are in the dining/living area of our open floor plan home.

Colorful Spring Dining Room & Entryway
On Monday, I shared our spring kitchen and today I am sharing the rest of this level of our home. Sometimes I struggle with what to call this space. It is our dining, living, entry and "whatever else you would like to call" it space. We live a very casual and hectic life and this arrangement works well for us.
For the table. started with a green and white striped throw from Target as a tablecloth and added a few new melamine bunny plates from HomeGoods. An old chippy tool caddy serves as the centerpiece and adds a bit of rustic charm.
I added a clearance picture from Target to the plank wall with hooks. I like how it adds a touch of spring and lightens up the whole look of the gallery wall.
Atop the mantel, I added a colorful Chinese Checkers board from HomeGoods. The paper flower garland is from the Dollar Spot at Target.
I am a sucker for these little Rae Dunn bowels and I keep adding to my collection. They are the perfect size for so many snacks. And cereal too.
I like to add a few fun items to the table for the kids and young at heart. I made a small bouquet with chocolate flower lollipops from Target.
The wire basket on the side of our island is still going strong. I still keep paper plates, lunch bags and napkins here.

Winter Family Room - A New Furniture Arrangement
I knew that I wanted to separate the wall unit into three separate pieces because that is an easy way to change the whole feel of the room. We put the two side pieces together to give them more of a bookshelf feel.

Summer Gallery Wall with DIY Flag Sign
Happy Friday! Today marks the unofficial start to summer and it is also the fourth Friday of the month, which means I am joining some super talented bloggers for Farmhouse Friday. Please be sure to check out their posts which all include a patriotic how-to just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
I like to update the gallery wall in our family room with the seasons and I just finished adding some summer inspired touches. The focal point of our summer gallery wall this year is the DIY American flag I made with some scrap wood. I took the pictures but never actually got around to sharing how I made it. This flag is so versatile and always finds a spot in our home during the summer months.April 15, 2016
Latest Find - New Console Table
Last weekend, Billy and I took a road trip to the nearest Pottery Barn Outlet, which isn't very near to us at all. The only PB outlet within driving distance to us is all the way out on Long Island in New York, which means crossing either the George Washington Bridge or Tappan Zee, passing through the Bronx & Queens (lots of traffic almost always) and out to Long Island. It's a trek that takes over an hour, but since I had a couple of Pottery Barn credits burning a hole in my pocket, we took the trip.

Summer Changes in our Family Room
I recently changed things up in our family room for summer and added some cabin style decor to remind us of our favorite place to be in the summer, the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate NY. I like to spread the furniture out in this room when we aren't spending as much time around the fireplace. It isn't quite as cozy, but this room always feels so much larger arranged this way.

Our Newly Planked Gallery Wall
I am so excited about how our new planked wall has turned out in our family room! Every once in a while, I get an idea of what I hope something will look like in my head, and then cross my fingers that it turns out well. It doesn't always end up as well as I plan. Does that happen to you too? But this was one of those projects that turned out better than I pictured.

New Gallery Wall & Corner Home Office
We don't have a room dedicated to home office space in our home, but I still like to have an organized space to work from. I decided to carve out a corner of our Family Room just for this purpose.

Gallery Walls
Gallery walls are just about my favorite way to decorate a space. I like them to look collected and to represent the people who live within the walls.
