Twenty Fifteen

Hello friends and Happy 2015!  Are you recovered from the hectic holiday season yet?  The end of December always feels like such a whirlwind as we get ready to celebrate Christmas with our families in our home in NJ and then leave for vacation in Upstate NY right after.  Vacation was slow and relaxing and just what we all needed.  As I have mentioned before, we have no internet or cell phone service at the house up there and I enjoy the break from it all.  We read, played games, shopped for a used pick up truck for our oldest boy (yikes!), and took lots of walks down snowy trails.

And watched the sunset on 2014.
This week, back at home in NJ, we have been finding our routine again.  I love the feeling of a fresh start that the new year brings.  I have been busy putting away all things Christmas and cooking up a storm.  I have also been reading some great books that I will write about soon.  I hope your new year is off to a great start.

  1. Beautiful pictures!!! I miss the snow since we moved down south a couple of years ago. This last photo of the lake reminds me of Schroon Lake, NY where I spent my summers & winters. Thank you for sharing!! Happy New Year!!

    1. Happy New Year to you as well, Debbie! And there is a very good reason that the last picture reminds you of Schroon Lake. It is Schroon Lake!! We spend as much time as we can up there. It is our favorite place :)

  2. It sounds like you had some good family bonding time, Courtney! I think our best family vacation was when we rented a lake cottage in Maine one summer (with another family) and really spent time together. I don't think we put the television on the whole week! Love that picture of you and your hubby. : )

    1. Thank you, Kathy. I just value the time we get to spend together up there so much. It is amazing how much more connected everyone is when there are no distractions and we are surrounded by nature. Your vacation in a lake cottage in Maine sounds perfect! I would love to do that.

      Have a great weekend,
      Courtney

  3. So nice to be able to get away from the daily grind and the constant hustle and bustle of life. I'm sure Forrest and Keeper had a blast in the snow up there. I love to cook and bake but, I don't know the house just seems more cozy doing it at this time of year. Happy New Year to you and your family!

All the best for you and all your boys in the New Year.
