Keepin' it real in our master bath

We "may" have been getting a bit lazy about keeping things in their place in our master bath.  You know all those things that don't appear in a magazine photo shoot but are necessary items in an actual bathroom?  Like toothbrushes, mouthwash, toothpaste, etc.  They were collecting all over the top of our countertop and it was not pretty.  I headed to HomeGoods in search of some way to keep everything organized and yet still easily accessible.  I found this 2 tiered stand in the kitchen aisle and I thought it could work.

It certainly isn't as pretty as a vase of gorgeous hydrangeas, but it is really working well to keep us organized.  Plus, it keeps all of our toiletries up off the countertop so I don't have to worry about damage to the carrera marble.  I considered purchasing a pretty glass bottle to store our mouthwash in, but decided against it.  I decided I really didn't have the time or patience for that!  So the Listerine bottle sits in the back of the stand.

I am still keeping my makeup in the vanity drawers and my hair items (blow dryer, hairspray, etc) in the baskets below the vanity.  I talked about organizing those items in this post.  That system has been working well.

Over on the tub side of the room, I have been enjoying the over-the-tub shelf the kids gave me for Mother's Day.  I love to read in the tub so this has been perfect.

Do you have a system for keeping things organized in the bathroom?  I am always on the hunt for new ideas!  Looking for sources or more information about our DIY master bath?  Here are a few posts:

  1. Your bathroom? Yeah, it's the one I want. Wherever did you get the bath faucet and tub itself? Gorgeous!!

    1. Thanks so much, Denise! We purchased the acrylic pedestal tub and faucet as a package from Vintage Hope that helps!!

    2. I'd never heard of them, and am enjoying visiting their site. I've bookmarked it for when I get ready. Looking at your bathroom is pushing me in the right direction! Thanks for sharing.

  2. I must know: where did you get that 2 tier stand? I need one of those =)

    1. Hi Stacy! I purchased mine at HomeGoods. It was in the kitchen section and it cost $19.99. I think you need one too :)

  3. Looks great. Where did you get your soap dispenser?
