I decided to spread the seating area out and swapped out a smaller dining table from our deck. We always eat up on the deck since it is the same level as the kitchen so it made sense to have the larger table up there. I definitely like having more space under the covered patio to spread out and relax. Our pool area is in the hot sun so it is nice to be able to escape that and cool off under here.
Last year, we added the vinyl breadboard to the ceiling and that made a huge difference in brightening up the space.
I picked up two of these green lanterns on clearance from TJ Maxx. They were $11 each. We hung them from some brackets we got from Christmas Tree Shop.
I pick up the galvanized watering can from a garage sale for a couple of bucks. The preserved boxwood will stay green all summer without needing water. I spritz it with water every couple of weeks and keep it out of direct sunlight so it doesn't yellow.
We added a hummingbird feeder this year but so far, no hummingbirds:( We have been using a homemade sugar water combo to feed them, the same one we use in the Upstate NY house that attracts tons of hummingbirds, but so far not a single hummingbird has stopped by. Does anyone have any tips about attracting hummingbirds? Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
