Hello friends! I thought I'd share a few pictures of Spring decor around our home that I've captured over the last few weeks. We've been doing some cleaning both inside and outside our home as we prepare for the warmer months.
The last couple of years I have enjoyed planting spring bulbs in planters to enjoy inside our home to get a jumpstart on the season. They really do bring that spring feel and scent into the house.I planted some pansies in the window box outside the kitchen windows and they add so much to both the inside and outside. They will probably only last about a month or so but I will begin to trade them out for geraniums as the weather warms up.I found the vintage paint-by-numbers with a yellow covered bridge a couple of months ago and knew it would be perfect in our spring/summer kitchen. I also brought out this colorful runner for the season.Up in our primary bathroom and bedroom I added in lots of color too. Can you believe it's been 10 years since we finished this bathroom? I think many of the choices we made have stood the test of time and held up really well. Finally, a Dax smile to thank you for stopping by our home today for a visit. Happy Spring!April 17, 2023

Winter Decor Around Our Home
Hello! I just love the quieter days at this time of year when we can get cozy at home without as many obligations as the holiday season seems to bring. I always enjoy adding a couple of new cookbooks to my collection and trying out some new recipes.
I added in a couple of new decor items to our kitchen for winter. The print of the bowl with oranges above the range is from Target as is the new runner. Both are by Studio McGee for Threshold. I also found a vintage chair at one of my favorite vintage shops near the cabin and it was painted such a pretty shade of blue that I left it that color. It reminds me of that Julia Child blue, much like my kitchen island paint color (which is Oval Room Blue by Farrow and Ball).
I made the yarn ball wreath hanging over the sink a few years back and I always bring it out in January. I enjoy less color this time of year and I like that this adds in some softness and texture without color and I especially like how it glows when the light hits it in the late afternoon.
Candlelight is another wonderful element at this time of year especially and I added these 2 brass candle holders from Farmhouse Pottery to my collection recently using a gift card my boys gave me for Christmas. I love that they are heirloom quality and I light them in the late afternoon when I begin to think about what to make for dinner that evening.I enjoy having this little seating area next to my kitchen so much! We spend more time as a family lounging in this area and the kitchen than any other place in our home.
I added a block print quilt from Target to the sofa to protect it from the spills and dog hair that inevitably build up in a much used space. This way I can just throw it in the washing machine. And I like the interest it adds to the space.
The other part of our home that we spend a lot of time in this time of year is our family room because that is where the wood burning fireplace is. I brought the ice skating picture for above the mantel that had been holiday decor in our kitchen for Christmas. I'm enjoying the lovely softer colors and lot of candle light too. The 2 light on either side of the mantel are from Ikea (Tarnaby light fixture) and add a pretty glow.
Finally, I put our bedroom back together with some neutrals too and it feels like a breath of fresh air up here for the cooler months.
Most of the bedding is from Target. The block print euro shams are a super affordable way to get that block print look that is so popular right now and they are very soft. The longer beige and white stripe pillow is also a recent Target find. Thanks so much for stopping today! Please feel free to email me or ask for more sources in the comments. I tried to link the newer items that I thought would be of most interest but I usually end up missing a few things that you are interested in.December 3, 2022
Christmas at the Cabin
Welcome to Camp Lucky Dog! Decorating this little cabin is always a highlight of the holiday season and this is where we usually spend Christmas so it is full of wonderful memories of our family as it grew through the years.
We completed the renovation of the kitchen last year and I have so enjoyed having this space to cook and bake in. My husband, Billy, has an account on Instagram where he shared pics of the cabin if you want to follow along. I style and take the pics and he shares them so it's a real team effort. You can follow along @campluckydog.
I added a full size tree to the kitchen this year strictly for my own enjoyment. I like to bake my Christmas cookies here so it's nice to have the warm glow of the tree by the fire while I'm doing that.Of course I always have my #1 helper by my side. Dax love spending time at Camp Lucky Dog too!
The kitchen table is a popular spot at cabin and nothing makes me happier than having all of my kids gathered around this table. The family room is up next on our list of renovations for 2023. We will be replacing the carpeting with wood and finally getting rid of that popcorn ceiling in here. We will also be re-doing the fireplace wall but I'm not 100% sure exactly what we will do but I do know it will be budget friendly and there will be no trace of that reddish brown brick and brown grout when we are done! We are really excited to get going on that project. The tree in here is new this year and I love it! It's 9 ft tall and we found it at Home Depot and fills the room and the whole cabin with holiday cheer. I made a log cabin tree topper from an unfinished wood bird house that we painted to match the exterior of our cabin. This is the view from the family room towards the kitchen.I didn't get to take any pics of the cabin the snow yet this year so I'm adding a couple from last year and I'm looking forward to everything looking like this soon. And finally, here is a peek of our family Christmas card this year. Most of the pictures were taken at the cabin because most of our happiest moments happened here this year throughout all the seasons. Full disclosure, we have had our fair share of struggles this year as all families do. And also? I feel so lucky to be surrounded by so much love and laughter - these kids and my family are my world. From our family to yours, we wish you a very happy holiday season!
