Fall Home Tour 2016 - Kitchen

Farmhouse sink with caged light pendant and fall wreath -
Welcome to our fall kitchen. It is great to get back in the kitchen after a summer spent outdoors and cook some yummy meals for my family. Our family spends lot of time gathered around our small kitchen island. And, of course, Dax needs to get in on the action by begging for a piece of apple.

I got the idea to hang this mason jar "chandelier" over the kitchen island in a magazine called "Living the Country Life". We aren't exactly living the country life in the suburbs of NYC, but I found some great inspiration on those pages.

I added some fall goodness to the 3 tiered stand on the counter. The pumpkin "curtains" are actually dish towels from HomeGoods.

I added a fall wreath to the window over the sink for some color. I am enjoying the Mrs. Meyer's new apple cider scented soaps.

I kept things fairly neutral in the sitting area by the kitchen.

  7. So cute! Looks great ! Nice to have your son in the kitchen with you! He will remember those special moments !

  8. I really love all of your touches, Courtney! The Mason jar chandy is so cool! I think its great that you have festive pieces here and there that don't 'shout' fall. Perfect. And wow, how I'd love to have room for a little sitting area in or near my kitchen. Even with an open floor concept sometimes I feel everyone is 'out there' and I'm stuck in front of the stove! lol.

Love Keeper's little spot. Habits like these melt my heart.

    Happy Fall!

  9. What a charming, welcoming space...I just love your home, Courtney!

  10. Hi Courtney, I love your fall home tour. So warm and welcoming. Love the pic of you and your kiddo baking. Your new shelves look really great decked out for Autumn. Your home is really beautiful..Happy Weekend..Judy

  11. Dax and Keeper are just so sweet and I love your kitchen decor! I can practically smell some apple crisp baking in the oven! Your son looks like he enjoys helping.

  12. I love everything about your kitchen! And it looks especially nice for fall!

  13. I love your kitchen Courtney! I looks so warm and cozy. Of course a couple of gorgeous goldens always complete the picture.

  14. I love your home! If I may ask, where did you get your wall sconces? I have a large Gather sign in my dining room and they would be perfect on each side!

  15. Your home is beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I have just a couple of questions, if you would be so gracious to share? First of all, do you mind having separate hot and cold faucets in the kitchen? I love this style but have always hesitated for convenience reasons. Secondly, what kind of flooring do you have that can withstand dog traffic? And finally, how in the world do you keep up with the dog hair? Our son's golden has moved in with us and I feel as if I need to vacuum 5 times/day, which I really don't have time for. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!

  16. Courtney,
Your home and blog are Golden! 😀
