Fall Family Room

Happy Fall! Today marks the first official day of Autumn and I couldn't be happier about it. It is my favorite season and I can't wait to go on some leaf peeping adventures. This year, I added some fall touches to our family room first. Come on in and have a look around. With the stone fireplace and comfy plaid chairs, it never takes much for this room to feel like fall. Oh, and please don't mind the dog hair or dust if you spot any in these pictures. This is what our home really looks like. ;)

I added a new rug in front of the fireplace, as well as a pine coffee table that was a recent $10 yard sale find. To the top of the table, I added a vintage dough bowl filled with a mix of glass and fabric pumpkins with a book.
Over the mantel, I added a few velvet pumpkins, books and some texture with a wicker basket. The garland is from Joann Fabrics and warms up the white mantel a bit.
Our gallery wall got a few fall touches with a pallet sign I made a few years back and a paint-by-numbers piece I made last year.
I am always on the hunt for vintage paint-by-numbers and I've displayed quite a few of them in our family room this fall.
And a couple of fall smiles from Keeper and Dax, who are both looking forward to the cooler temperatures that come with fall. It was a hot and humid summer for dogs with this much hair and they both spent so much time in our pool that their fur started to turn a bit green! So giving them baths with my own anti-chlorine shampoo and conditioner is on the to-do list for this weekend.
Have you started decorating for fall yet? Happy Fall!!

  3. Homey and comfy as always! I love your vintage paint by number pictures!! I have 2 somewhere that my grandmother painted when she was recovering from a heart attack in the early 60’s. You have inspired me to look for them! And I did not know a Golden’s coat could turn green from swimming in the pool! Hahaha....too funny!

    1. Oh how I would love to have paint-by-numbers done by a family member - what a treasure! There is just something about their simplicity, and that anyone can be an artist no matter what, that speaks to me. The green fur on my pups is a first for us too. We were away a lot this summer and the balancing of the pool's water definitely got away from us. Good thing I didn't go swimming or I would have had green hair too! :)
      Thanks for stopping by, Chris

  11. Courtney, I love all the colour in your home, so many homes are neutral now. Would you mind sharing where the wicker tray is from on your coffee table? It’s exactly what I am looking for.

    1. Thank you, Angela! The wicker tray on my coffee table is from Pottery Barn. It is the Beachcomber tray. Hope that helps!
