Our Christmas Kitchen 2017

Today I am so excited to share our kitchen with Christmas decor for this year. I have some fun new additions to share in this space, including a DIY pot rack and new barstools, as well.

We added a DIY pot rack over our island back a few weeks ago. It adds a ton of visual interest to the space as well as some much needed storage. For Christmas, I wrapped a strand flocked garland from Walmart around the wooden frame. I especially like the way the flocked greenery looks with the copper pots. More to come about how we made the pot rack soon.
I am craving a bit more simplicity this year so I simply hung our bottle garland on the window over the sink and added some sprigs of greenery.
I also added a couple of paper village houses that my youngest boy and I made a couple of years ago to our glass canisters. We used this kit and I wish I could find another similar kit to make more. They looks great when the sun hits them in the morning.
We also added a couple of new bar stools to the counter that separates our kitchen and dining room. These are comfortable and sturdy and bring this space more up to date.
I enjoy collecting and displaying kitchen themed ornaments on our kitchen tree each year. This year I used a new pre-lit flocked 4 ft tree from Walmart (just $25!) and placed it in the crock that usually holds our utensils.
I have been busy getting everything decorated and can't wait to share more soon. Coming up next will be the other half of this space, the dining and living areas on this floor.

    1. Thank you! We have standard 8 ft ceilings. And unfortunately, I have NO dog hair secrets. It is everywhere and drives me crazy. I should vacuum everyday with 2 goldens, but I most certainly don't. One thing I am sure of - what our dogs bring into our lives is worth the dog hair. :)
