Blue & White Master Bedroom

Do you have a color combination in your home decor that you keep coming back to again and again? For me, that combo is blue and white.

I like to experiment with other colors, and even neutrals, but there is nothing like varying shades of blue and white for me.  It is my home decor comfort zone.

I have collected a large assortment of blue and white bedding and pillows over the years and I enjoy mixing all of the patterns and textures together.  The Sel de Mer pillow is a recent addition to my collection.

I am going to share a little money saving secret.  The quilt on the bottom of our bed is actually just a twin size even though our bed is king size.  With the thick duvet cover, we don't actually need to use the quilt so it is just for decoration.  Since a twin size is often a fraction of the cost of a king size quilt, I often buy the smaller size.

Over on our window seat, I covered the cushion with a new blue and white striped cotton blanket from Ikea.

For those of you who are new here, we created this window seat from an old wall unit.  You can read more about it here.  This is one of my favorite areas in our house.  The sun shines in for a good part of the day.

    1. Thanks Linda! I picked up the daffodils at Trader Joe's for a little over a buck. Only problem is they have an awful scent to them, almost like urine. I kept them anyway because they looked so pretty.

  6. Hi Courtney, your room is lovely. May I please ask where you purchased your est. 1996 pillow? I'd like something like that for my bedroom as well.

    Thanks,
    Hallie

    1. Thanks so much! I purchased the white lumbar pillow at HomeGoods and I stenciled the “1996” on with some multi surface craft paint using a number stencil. It has held up really well.

  8. I am a huge blue and white fan too! I just ordered the blue and white Rae Duvet cover from Pottery Barn but it doesn't get shipped until April. It might inspire me to freshen up a few things in my master bedroom since it is feeling a little dull in there. Dax is growing up so fast! Such a cutie. Enjoy your weekend!
