Spring Dining Room & New Tablecloth Curtains

Spring dining room-www.goldenboysandme.com
On a recent trip to Target (I wonder just how many of my blog posts start that way? :), I spotted new fabric tablecloths in some fun, spring-y fabrics.  I have been craving Spring so badly that 2 of them just sort of jumped in my cart.  I stopped at the grocery store on my way home for some tulips and I came home and added some Spring to our dining room.

That newly chalk painted corner hutch was an Ikea piece from at least 12 years ago.  It had been sitting in our basement for a good chunk of that time-since we moved to this house.  It had been an orange-y pine, but a quick coat of some white paint and now I am loving the extra storage it provides.

I hung the tablecloths using the faux "pinch pleat" method that I talked about in this post.  Instant new window coverings.

I love the little birds on this fabric.  So sweet.

I have become more and more eclectic with my table settings.  I love to mix a variety of pieces and it makes it fun to shop at places like HomeGoods and TJ Maxx to pick up a piece here and there.

I usually stick with my staple white plates, and then add some personality from there, depending on the season or holiday.

  6. It looks very Spring-like and welcoming in your dining room, Courtney! I'm hungry now after seeing your table! : ) Love the tablecloths as drapery. I always see other bloggers pick out such pretty tablecloths for drapes and they look so great hanging up, too. Next time I feel the urge for new drapes I'm going to check out the table linen section!

    1. Hi Kathy,

Thanks! It feels so great to add some spring color to our house. I *may* have eaten one of those biscuits with butter and jelly just as soon as I finished taking these pictures :) And my kids are always happy to come home to a table full of props to snack on. I like to change out my curtains often, so the tablecloths make this much more affordable. There are often beautiful fabrics in the table linens section!
