My Target Dollar Spot Addiction

As I write this post, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and at least a little bit of snow is melting away.  Oh happy day!  Today, I wanted to talk about my latest addiction, the Target Dollar Spot.  I have to admit that I used to walk quickly past the Dollar Spot with, perhaps, a quick glance over, on my way to the end caps in the home decor department (still my favorite spot in all of Target).  But, Instagram has made the Dollar Spot more of a destination for me.  My Instagram friends are always posting their fabulous Dollar Spot finds.  So I decided to join the party.

On a recent Target outing, the Dollar Spot was freshly stocked with Spring items.  Many of these things will be showing up in our Spring home tour, but I thought I would share a couple today while they are still (possibly) available at Target.  I have learned how quickly the good stuff goes.  First up, the $3 oval chalkboard.

I added a few flowers with these rub on transfers that I also found at Target (in the stationary aisle, also on clearance).  Now I have a cute new Spring sign for just under $4.

Next up is this white styrofoam bunny, also $3.  I used a green gingham pencil from the package of spring pencils (also from the, where else, Dollar Spot), and placed it in a small pot.  Instant bunny topiary.  They also had moss covered bunnies that I got for our Spring family room mantel.  More pictures of that soon!

I am always on the lookout for labels for my baskets so I grabbed these wooden chalkboard labels for our kitchen baskets on our Ikea Hack island.  The old labels we had were cardboard and they were looking a bit old.  These should hold up much better.

I also found some smaller galvanized chalkboard labels ($1 for 4) for the baskets in our family room wall unit.

I also picked up some pretty stuff for my desk and planner.  And this cute Spring colored banner for our faux fireplace.

And I think my new vase ($3) looks great filled with tulips.

But I think my favorite Dollar Spot find of all time was the buffalo check "dog blanket" that they sold at Christmas time.  I bought a couple and loved the cozy lodge feel they added to our family room.

So I guess it is official that I have officially converted from a Dollar Spot snob to a Dollar Spot addict.  Do you enjoy dollar spots/stores too?  Tell me about your favorite finds.

  2. I hear you, Courtney. There is just something about those $1 bins. When my grandgirls have money they want to spend it at TARGET ---lol-- on the $ bins. It is at least an hour+ experience...lol xo Diana

    1. LOL, Diana! I can just imagine how hard it would be for your granddaughters to choose from all of those bins. My boys were like that in the Lego aisle.

Hope your week gets off to a great start!

  5. In Europe we have a chain called One Euro Shop and I think that's it's more or less the same as your Target! I also love to shop there from time to time because you can find real treasures:-)
