Winter & Valentine's Day Decor in the Kitchen

Farmhouse sink with faux rosemary topiaires from Ikea and fresh baked pies sign from World Market-www.goldenboysandme.com
Happy (almost) February!  We are one month closer to Spring.  I always enjoy the bareness of the house for the first couple of weeks after the Christmas stuff goes away, but then it starts to feel a bit bland and I start pulling things out of the basement.  I put the "fresh baked pies" sign from World Market back over the sink and added a couple of faux rosemary topiaries that I picked up at Ikea on either side. I think they are the perfect size for a window sill.

I decided to leave the candle chandelier over the island after Christmas.  We are considering adding a more permanent (and wired) light source over the island, but for now this fills the space nicely.  I added a heart garland from the dollar spot at Target for Valentine's Day.

I also added a heart garland to the mantel shelf over our range.

Our microwave used to be on the shelf above where it sits on the counter now.  I took it down to clean it and decided to leave it on the counter.  I like the look of the open shelves.

I also changed things up a bit on the side of the fridge cabinet.  I will be sharing more pics of that soon.

January has been a month full of organization around here and I will be sharing more about that soon.

  5. Your home just right. I could so easily live there. :)

I love the container that holds your soaps on the left side of your sink. Do you remember where you got it?

    2. Thanks for letting me know. I'm sad to say they must not carry it any longer. I've searched high and low and don't find it on their current website. Drat!

  6. Courtney, your kitchen is really beautiful. I love the farm-house sink and really regret that I didn't put one in and the big window lets in so much light. It is very bright and cheery..Happy Sunday..Judy

    1. Thank you, Judy! I do enjoy how bright our kitchen is. But, like you, there are changes I would make if I could do it all over again. Happy Sunday! Courtney

  7. Courtney. I too love your kitchen and think I might cook and bake all day in there! I still am attempting to talk my husband into taking our microwave from over our stove and putting in a pretty vent hood similar to yours. Please channel good thoughts my way on that one! I would love to know where you found your mug/drying wrack.....I need one!!!!
