Hello!! How are you doing? I have not fallen off the face of the earth. Just the face of the blogosphere;) When I get involved in a DIY project, this blog definitely falls to the wayside and I need to get better about that. I am excited to post some pics of our finished master bedroom soon. I am LOVING it!! We have been homeowners for close to 20 years. Can you believe we have never designed and completed a master bedroom exactly to our taste? It seems that our bedrooms have always gotten cast offs from the rest of the house...
I am going to post a few of my phone pics so you can see what we've been up to. Some of my favorite blog posts are about people's everyday lives. Here's a snippet of ours.
The night before our new carpet arrived. Molding and paint finally completed and all furniture moved. Phew! Last weekend was busy. The dogs were happy with the mattress on the floor. I was happy to say goodbye to the ugly brown carpet.
I have been shopping for accessories for our bedroom; hitting up every HomeGoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls in the area. Here are a few of the things I was considering. I love that striped wing chair. Still haven't bought it, but still thinking about it. Kinda hoping someone else will buy it so I can stop thinking about it! We really don't "need" another chair in our bedroom. I didn't buy the shuttered mirror or the other mirror. But the barn painting found a home on our bedroom. It reminds me of a farm we visit in Vermont and it needed to come home with me.
I did purchase this chalkboard at TJ Maxx and added our monogram in chalk. I am not the greatest at chalkboard writing but I am learning. This isn't quite the finished product, after I snapped this pic I did some more tweaking.
Here's the start of a great day. An Isagenix protein shake, water and a Hobby Lobby 40% off coupon.
Picture Day at school for Matty
A trip to one of my favorite stores for a duvet cover and some buffalo check fabric.
A trip to the eye doctor and Matty ended up needing glasses for distance (I seem to have passed that trait on to all 3 of my boys while Billy is lucky enough to have 20/20 vision).
Forrest approves of the new bedding.
A quick gallery wall I threw together on the stairs leading upstairs. I think it needs something else so I will wait to take some pics with my real camera when it's complete.
I am tired of the summer like weather we have had. Bring on Fall, please! I want to wear scarves and boots. But the leaves are starting to look gorgeous even if it doesn't feel Autumn-like.
Finally, I am writing this post from my new window seat. Yes I am wearing my flannel pjs:) Can't wait to show you our bedroom!!
And a yummy apple crisp for dinner at my mom's tonight.
