Summer Reading

Have you read any great books this summer?  I am trying to be frugal and only read books that I borrow from the library this year.  Before our last trip to the mountains, I got an e-mail from the library that Elin Hilderbrand's new novel was ready for me (I was on the waiting list).  Perfect timing!  It was an enjoyable read.  Not my favorite by her (that would be The Blue Bistro), but it was good. ..

The best book I have read this summer was Looking for Me by Beth Hoffman.  I highly recommend it, especially to those of you who love refurbished old furniture and nature.  Beth Hoffman also wrote Saving CeeCee Honeycutt which I kept hearing great things about last year, but never got around to reading until now. I really enjoyed that one too and now I want to visit both Savannah and Charleston (the settings of those books) soon!

I would love if you would recommend a great book you've read recently!!  I am always excited to hear about books people enjoyed.

    1. Oh my!! You have made my week, Beth Hoffman! I was already a fan, but the fact that you took the time to comment on my little blog means so very much. Thank you. I can't wait to read more of your work in the future.

    2. Courtney ... you've made my week, too! Writing is a solitary life, and to know that my work is being read and enjoyed and discussed is a wonderful validation. Then, to have someone take time out of their busy life to sit down and blog about my stories (and add a photo no less) ... well, that continues to amaze me!

  2. Thanks for the book recommendations. I read "Saving Cee Cee Honeycutt" and thought it was a darling book and now I look forward to reading "Looking for Me". How awesome that Beth Hoffman stopped by your blog to say hello! I was recently caught up reading "On Folly Beach" by Karen White. I highly recommend it. Enjoy your weekend!
