Welcoming 2013

Isn't it the best feeling to put all that holiday stuff away?  What starts out as beautiful soon turns into clutter and it is such a good feeling to turn the page to a new year and a fresh start.  We spent our last days of 2012 in Schroon Lake, NY.  We arrived just in time for a foot of snow to fall.  We couldn't have planned it any better!  My boys (the big ones and the younger ones) were SO hoping for "snowmobile-able" snow, which translates into a foot plus to get out on the trails.  They got their wish this year.
All this snow...

Made for happy boys!

Birch trees and blue skies..love!

We've had Keeper 2 years this Christmas.

The wreath on the car was turning brown but we made it last a few more days.

Keeper and Billy

The Peppermint Pig is a New Year's tradition for us.  We go around the table and talk about what the best part of the year was, then you get to take a wack a the pig with a little hammer.

Matty's turn

Now we are back in NJ and everyone is back at school and work.  I am enjoying playing with my new toys for the kitchen.  My mom gave me a hand painted salt keeper and I LOVE it!
Happy 2013...can't wait to see what this new chapter brings.

  1. I'm a new follower. My aunt and uncle live right on the Schroon River!! We visited them last year and I've been looking at real estate in the area ever since. Their house is literally right on the river. Their address is Brant Lake. Anywhoodle, I'm like you - I can't wait to take down all the clutter and my house feels so clean afterwards. January is actually my favorite month of the year because I get to relax and hibernate after the chaos of the Holidays. Happy New Year!
    xoxo,
